Top 15 Fitness Gifts (That Fit Every Budget) for Christmas 2023

Stuck on Gift Ideas?

Buying fitness gifts can be tricky.

There are so many different options to choose from online and because of this, it can become somewhat overwhelming when deciding what the best options might be.

In this blog post, I will save your decision-making muscles some hassle and stress by describing some of the best

fitness gifts you can buy for guys or girls.

1. Fitness Book:

If you’re a guy or a girl looking to tone up, pack on some lean muscle or just lose fat and get healthy, there are books out there for you that can help and assist you.

Some of my favourite strength training books include:

 Becoming a Supple Leopard by Kelly Starrett and Glen Cordoza

 Functional Training for Sports by Mike Boyle

 Strength by Joe DeFranco and James Smyth

 The World’s Fittest Book by Ross Edgley

 The Complete Guide to Strength Training by Anita Bean

Some of my favourite nutrition books include:

 Eat Smarter by Shawn Stevenson

 The Complete Guide to Sports Nutrition by Anita Bean

 The Complete Guide to Food for Sports Performance by Dr Louise Burke and Greg Cox

 Flexible Dieting by Alan Aragon

2. Resistance Bands:

I’m a huge fan of resistant bands when it comes to doing any kind of strength or mobility work.

Bands are so versatile and can be used to work literally every muscle in the body.

It doesn’t matter if you’re working out at home, in the gym or even while you’re travelling – bands cater for all your needs.

Resistant bands can be bought online for €6-€20 depending on the thickness of them and the amount of resistance they provide

I always buy resistant bands in pairs so that if I ever want to do a band resisted barbell exercise, I’ll have two bands that are exactly the same.

3. TRX/Suspension Trainer:

Just like resistant bands, suspension trainers are so versatile and offer endless opportunities for new exercises. You can clip them onto your door and get working on a range of exercises.

A Suspension trainer would set you back about €35 also and is a worthwhile investment.

4. Weight Vest:

If your workouts are sometimes limited to bodyweight exercises and you’re trying to find ways to make them more challenging, look no further than investing in a weighted vest.

Alternatively, if you want to improve your conditioning and endurance, you could wear your vest during your gym session or go for some walks with your weighted vest on.

A 10Kg weighted vest can be bought for as little as €20-€30.

5. Chin Up Bar:

I’ve had the same chin up bar for the past 8 years and it has more than served me!

Every morning, as part of my routine I knock out a few and it’s really helped me build my back, biceps, forearms and core.

Chin up bars can be bought online €20-€30 and are a lifelong investment.

6. Fat Gripz:

Fat gripz can be wrapped around the handles of dumbbells, barbells or even pull up bars.

They build your grip strength like nothing else (and also make your arms look jacked!).

I love using them for pressing and pulling exercises such as a DB Chest Press or DB Row.

Fat gripz can be bought online for €25-€40 and are a worthwhile investment for any guy or gal looking to improve the appearance of their arms.

7. Yoga Mat:

Nobody enjoys doing any form of strength training, mobility work or stretching lying on a floor.

And that’s why yoga mats are beneficial.

Try to look for a thick as opposed to a thin yoga mat because they have better durability, are more comfortable to lie on and will last longer.

8. Liquid Chalk

Having sweaty palms can ruin your reps and force you to cut your sets short.

Have you ever had to drop the barbell or dumbbells because they were about to slip? Chalk helps solve this problem.

And while both powdered and liquid chalk both work, the problem with powdered chalk is it can make a mess.

That is why liquid chalk is helpful because it creates less of a mess and is easy to carry around.

It can be bought online for as little as €8.

9. Digital Food Scales:

My mantra for tracking food intake is “calculate but don’t obsess.”

However, it can be useful to be able to have an accurate measure of our portions – especially when it comes to foods like rice, pasta, potatoes, oats and different meats.

Have you ever poured rice from the package straight into the saucepan only to realise you cooked weigh (see what I did there?) too much?

That’s why digital food scales are so helpful.

A digital food scale takes the guess work out of it for you and can be bought for about €15 online.

10. Travel Coffee Mugs:

Who doesn’t enjoy a good old cup of coffee?

Not only does it taste great, coffee has performance benefits in the gym, helps delay the onset of fatigue and can improve your mental focus.

Having a good travel coffee mug to take with you on your commute to the gym is a worthwhile investment.

They can be bough online for as little as €10.

11. Stainless Steel Shaker:

It’s not nice drinking warm water during your workouts and that’s why I recommend investing in a stainless steel shaker.

It helps keep your drink nice and cool and they are much more durable than your standard plastic shaker.

They can be bought for as little as €10.

12. Meal Prep Containers:

One of the best ways for staying consistent with your nutrition is prepping your meals ahead of time.

The old saying of “fail to prepare, prepare to fail” holds true.

That is why having solid containers that don’t take up much room and can be easily stored in the fridge, freezer, your lunch bag etc. is important.

If you’re investing in meal prep containers, I recommend opting for a medium sized container – something similar to the size of a 4 in 1 container you’d get in a Chinese (not that I’d know of this!) so it doesn’t take up the entire space you have available to you!

A meal prep container package can be bought from around €10.

13. Body Fat Caliper:

Estimating your body fat percentage using calipers can be hit or miss.

However, provided you do it the same way in the exact same areas everytime, the measurements can be beneficial.

Body fat calipers can be bought online from €10 - €15 and can be an effective starting point for estimating your bodyfat percentage.

14. Protein Powder:

Supplements aren’t as important as we’re lead believe in the media.

However, they can (as the name suggests) supplement any deficiencies you have in your diet.

From my coaching experience, inadequate protein intake is one of the most common areas a lot of people fall down on.

That is why I recommend you investing in a protein supplement.

Some of my favourite brands include Gold Standard Whey from Optimum Nutrition and Sunwarrior as a vegan/vegetarian option.

15. Apparel:

When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good you perform good!

Everyone appreciates some good quality fitness apparel and surprisingly, having some nice clothes to wear can give you that extra kick when you’re lacking in motivation to get a session in.

While the price will vary depending on the range of items you get, some of my favourite brands I like to wear include Alphalete, Gymshark, and the reliable Adidas and Nike brands.

The Takeaway:

2. Resistant Bands

3. TRX/Suspension Trainer
